PIMCO reports return of its former Managing Director and Senior Portfolio Manager
PIMCO has reported that its former Managing Director and Senior Portfolio Manager, Mohamed El-Erian will rejoin the company as the Managing Director and Co-CEO and Co-CIO in January 2008.
El-Erian has vast experience having served the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for 15 years; seven years with PIMCO in the position of a senior member in the company’s Portfolio Management team; and nearly two years as the President and CEO of Harvard Management Company (HMC).
El-Erian is expected to play a major role in driving PIMCO’s portfolio management process and investment strategy. He will also be expected to play a pivotal role in the company’s future business strategy; bolstering PIMCO’s relationships with other institutions across the world; and widening the products and services portfolio.
